    1. What is Nystatin Acis mouth and what is it used for?
    nystatin acis mouth is a yeast -specific antifungal. Nystatin Acis Mundgel is suitable for the treatment of nystatin -sensitive yeast infections of the oral cavity (oral building).
    2. What should you consider before using nystatin acis mouth?
    nystatin aciS mouth gel must not be used:
    if you are allergic to nystatin, methyl-4-hydroxybenzoat, propyl-4-hydroxybenzoat or one of the other components of this drug mentioned in section 6.
    In infants under 4 months and children, where the swallow reflex is not yet fully trained.
    Experience in the application of patients treated with cytostatics is not available.
    Warnings and precautions:
    Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using Nystatin Acis mouth.
    Children:
    Due to the high osmolarity of nystatin, an application for very underweight and immature premature babies is advised. It is important to take the variability in the maturation of the swallowing function of infants into account, especially if Nystatin Acis mouth gel is given to infants between the ages of 4 and 6 months. In premature babies or in children with delayed neuromuscular development, the lower age limit should be increased to 5 to 6 months.
    Aspiration in infants and small children:
    Especially in the case of infants and small children (4 months to 2 years), caution is advised so that the gel does not close the neck. Therefore, the gel should not be used in the back of the throat. Each dose should be divided into small individual portions and applied with a clean finger in the mouth. Infants and toddlers should therefore also be observed after the application. Also because of the risk of suffocation, the gel should not be applied to the nipples of a breastfeeding woman for use in the infant.
    Use of Nystatin Acis Mundgel together with other medicinal products:
    Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you take/use other medicines, have recently used/applied other medicines or intend to accept/apply other medicines. Interactions with other drugs have not yet become known.
    pregnancy and lactation:
    If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine. Nystatin is hardly absorbed in therapeutic dosage after oral administration over the intact skin or over the mucous membranes. Nystatin does not happen the placenta barrier, and a transfer to breast milk is also not to be expected. Nystatin Acis can be used after pregnancy and breastfeeding for benefits/risk assessment.
    Road and ability to operate machines:
    There are no experience with regard to the impairment of the traffic and the ability to use machines.

    Please only use Nystatin Acis Mundgel after consultation with your doctor if you know that you suffer from sugar intolerance. Nystatin Acis Mundgel can be harmful to the teeth (caries). This medicine contains less than 1 mmol (23 mg) sodium per 1 g, i.e. it is almost "sodium -free".
    3. How is Nystatin Acis Mundgel to apply?
    Always take this medicine exactly as described in this package insert or take the agreement with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
    The recommended dose is:
    Infants and toddlers between 4 - 24 months: In infants and small children (4 - 24 months), it makes sense to 1/2 - 1 measuring spoon before and after the meal (1/2 - 1 gram) in the oral cavity. This can optimize the effect of nystatin in the mouth. The gel should not be applied in the back to avoid a possible aspiration. Even in infants and small children, the elderly of the gel must be striving for in the mouth.
    Children (> 2 years) and adults: Nystatin Acis Mundgel 3 - 6 times a day, in severe cases every 2 hours, take 1 g gel (1 measuring spoon) each.
    Type of application:

    4. What side effects are possible?
    Like all medicines, this medicine can also have side effects, but this does not have to occur with everyone.

    gastrointestinal complaints, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

    rash (rashes), urticaria (hives).

    Methyl-4-hydroxybenzoat and propyl-4-hydroxybenzoat can cause hypersensitivity reactions, even with a time delay.
    Special information:
    If a hypersensitivity reaction occurs, the drug should be discontinued and, if necessary, a suitable treatment is carried out by the doctor.

    Application instructions
