Description
Origin and Plantation
Sigri A bears a distant resemblance to the Blue Mountain Coffee from Jamaica and was planted in the late 1930s in the highlands of Papua New Guinea. The Sigri Farm has a plantation size of 122 hectares and is one of the first farms to establish high-quality, controlled production in PNG.
Character and Taste
This balanced coffee impresses with its
chocolatey
taste and
fine spiciness.
The aftertaste is pleasantly sweet. Its intense flavor harmonizes perfectly with its noble acidity and makes this coffee a pleasure with every sip.
SPECIAL FEATURES
Coffee cultivation only became successful in Papua New Guinea in the 1930s, after seeds were smuggled into the country from Jamaica. However, the coffee sector has since become one of the most important in the country. Almost exclusively Arabica is cultivated, predominantly on plantations owned by small family farmers. The coffee is hand-picked and sun-dried. The flavor is similar to Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. Unusual notes like smoke, leaves, and moss harmonize with a natural sweetness.
