Description
Mepitel is a gentle, double-sided wound spacing grid with Safetac - the original contact layer with silicone adhesion, which minimizes pain when changing dressings. It sits gently on the skin without sticking to the moist wound (1) so you can easily remove the bandage without damaging the skin (2). This makes changing the dressing less painful for your patients (3).
Safetac also protects the new tissue and the intact skin, the wound remains undisturbed and the natural healing process is supported (3),(4),(5), (6).
The wound edges are also sealed to protect the skin from damaging leaks and maceration (7),(8),(9).
Thanks to the perforated design, wound exudate flows into a secondary absorbent dressing away. You can leave the dressing on the wound and apply topical treatments without any problem. Thanks to the integrity of the wound dressing, dressing changes are required less frequently and secondary dressings can be changed without disturbing the healing process.
Size: 5 x 7.5 cm
Advantages:
- Up to 14 days of undisturbed wound healing and less pain when changing dressings (10)
- Wound distance grid coated on both sides with Safetac technology
- Very good exudate transfer and topical application of substances possible thanks to the open network structure
- It has been clinically proven that scalds with Mepitel heal faster, less painfully and more cost-effectively than with silver sulfadiazine (3)
- Wound assessment possible without changing the dressing
- Good wound healing tendency
- Reduces the risk of maceration
- Leaves no residue and retains the functional properties permanently
- Adapts to body contours and gives the patient feels comfortable while wearing
- No to heavy exudate. If there is heavy exudate, please use a secondary dressing.
- Can be cut to size
- Secondary dressing necessary
- Very low allergy potential

- Can be used for non-to heavily exuding wounds, blisters, fragile skin and also on exposed structures (tendons, bones, muscles)
- Very suitable for heavily exuding wounds, radiation follow-up reactions, Tumor wounds, second degree burns, skin donor sites, skin tears, abrasions, suture wounds, lacerations and lacerations, superficial and deep skin graft wounds, diabetic ulcers and venous and arterial ulcers
- For traumatic wounds, epidermolysis bullosa (EB), chronic wounds
- For fixing skin grafts
- Prevents the primary and covering dressing from slipping
- For the wound as well as the skin surrounding the wound
- Allows topical ointments to be applied to the wound
Mepitel can be used depending on the condition Leave on the wound for 14 days. The mesh structure allows the wound exudate to flow into an overlying dressing. The Safetac coating prevents the bandage from sticking to the wound and therefore reduces pain. This increases the patient's well-being and promotes an undisturbed wound healing process.
1. Clean the wound. Remove the protective film.
2. Apply Mepitel to the wound.
3 Apply an absorbent dressing over Mepitel, e.g. Mextra Superabsorbent.
When treating bleeding wounds or wounds with viscous secretions, Mepitel should also be used Cover with a moist bandage until bleeding stops.
If Mepitel is used on burns treated with skin grafts or after facial plastic surgery, it may leave marks if used improperly.
