Description
Mepilex Ag is our versatile antimicrobial polyurethane foam dressing when you need antimicrobial effectiveness to reduce the germ load in the wound. The dressing is designed for mild to moderately exuding burns and wounds. Therefore, you can use it for the treatment of foot ulcers, bedsores and second degree burns.
The foam dressing with silver can kill germs (bacteria and fungi) in the wound within 30 minutes as shown in in vitro tests ( 1). According to an international consensus, antimicrobial effectiveness can reduce the bacterial load in infected wounds (2). It also acts as an antimicrobial barrier in wounds that are at high risk of infection or reinfection (2).
Mepilex Ag adheres gently to the wound thanks to the original Safetac contact layer with silicone adhesion, which minimizes pain when changing dressings. This makes changing dressings less painful for your patients.
Size: 13 x 20cm
Advantages:
- Less pain when changing dressings (3)-(7)
- Fast (within 30 minutes) and long lasting antimicrobial effect (up to 7 days)

- In comparative studies it has been proven that second degree burns heal faster (8),(9),(10)
- It is clinically proven to reduce the cost of treating patients with second degree burns (9), (10)
- It is clinically proven to reduce pain and trauma in patients with second degree burns (8)
- Medium exudate
- Can be cut to size
- Fixation required
