Summary
Blend of coffee beans from Kenya, Ethiopia and Brazil Only Arabica coffee beans Taste reminiscent of cinnamon and chocolate € 1 per kilogram goes to social projects
Description
The Coffee Circle Karibu coffee I a blend of three different coffees. This means that coffee beans from three different origins come together for roasting. In this case, the coffee beans, all of which come from coffee plants of the Arabica variety, come from Brazil, Kenya and Ethiopia. Refined together with a final temperature of 212 degrees Celsius to a medium degree of roasting, the result is a harmonious taste, which contains nuances of chocolate and cinnamon. The reason for this is the sweetness of the Ethiopian coffee beans in combination with the spicy aroma of the Coffee beans from Brazil. In the finish, subtle fruit notes of the Kenyan component are noticeable. In sum, the Karibu coffee tastes pleasantly intense. Coffee Circle obtains green coffee from three farmer cooperatives for the Karibu coffee in direct trade. The name is given by the expression "Karibu", which means "welcome" in Swahili – based on the good trade relations of Coffee Circle with the farmers from Kenya. The Kenyan coffee beans come from the Thiririka cooperative in Kiambu. Here, several thousand coffee farmers plant various Arabica plants at an altitude of 1800 meters. After harvesting, the coffee cherries are processed wet, which ensures a particularly transparent taste picture. The coffee used from Brazil comes from the small cooperative APAS in Mantiqueira de Minas. The Ethiopian coffee beans come from the Geta Bore cooperative from the Agaro region. Coffee Circle acts with great social awareness. In addition to the high purchase prices that farmers receive, the Berlin roasting company invests € 1 per kilogram of coffee sold in social projects in coffee-growing regions in Africa and South America.
