- if you have a rash on your face or your scalp is sensitive, irritated or injured;
- if you have ever had a reaction after dyeing your hair;

Before use:
- Provide accessories: a brush, a cape to protect clothing (or an old towel or T-shirt), a small plastic or glass bowl (not metal). The bottle caps can be used as measuring cups (5 ml).
- Prepare your hair: Hair should not be washed for at least 24 hours before coloring. The natural skin oils can have a natural protective effect on the skin. There should be no traces of styling products or even chlorine in the hair. Apply the color to dry hair.
- Try the chosen color: If you are in doubt about your choice of color, we recommend testing the color on one strand. If the choice between two tones is too difficult, it is always recommended to choose the lighter shade.
- Sensitivity test: It is always better to do a sensitivity test 48 hours before use.
- How to mix 2 or more colors : All Herbatint colors can be mixed with each other. However, always mix the same amount of dye and fixative. For example, if you want to mix shades 6N and 7D in the same ratio, mix 30 ml of shade 6N + 30 ml of shade 7D (= 60 ml of dye) with 60 ml of fixative.
- For effective coverage of gray hair : If you have an averagely high percentage of gray hair and choose a color from the Ash (C), Copper (R, DR), Gold (D), Mahogany (M) or Flash Fashion (FF) color range, it is recommended To achieve an ideal result, mix the chosen color (for example 30 ml of 4R) with an equivalent hair tone from the Natural Tone color range (in this case 30 ml of 4N). In general, the higher the percentage of gray hair, the higher the amount of color N to be used.
Don't forget: Always mix dyes and fixatives in a ratio of 1:1.
- Colored or treated hair:
Decolored hair: Herbatint can restore your hair to its natural tone. Bleached hair is more porous. Therefore, it is recommended to choose a lighter shade than desired, shorten the exposure time by ten minutes and avoid using cold or ash tones.
Hair with a perm: The hair should not be colored if the perm is new. Wait about 2 weeks, choose a lighter tone than desired and shorten the exposure time by 10 minutes.
Henna-treated hair: Henna creates a barrier around the hair and prevents the color from penetrating. Wait for the hair to grow back. Only then can you dye.
