    Alpha lipoic acid, also known as thioctic acid, is a vitamin-like substance produced by the body and is found primarily in tissues with a high mitochondrial density and intensive energy metabolism; the heart and liver have high concentrations.
    The content of alpha lipoic acid in plant foods (e.g. potatoes) is only low. As a coenzyme, this endogenous substance is involved in numerous metabolic processes. As an antioxidant, it has a broad spectrum of activity, as thioctic acid is able to develop its protective potential in hydrophilic and lipophilic compartments.
    It not only ensures antioxidant protection of proteins, lipids and DNA but also regenerates other antioxidants such as vitamins E and C and L-glutathione. Alpha lipoic acid reacts with heavy metals through chelation and regenerates the liver by improving hepatocellular detoxification.
    Lipoic acid capsules contain 150 mg alpha lipoic acid in a hard gelatin capsule.
    Racemic alpha lipoic acid is produced synthetically and is free of solvents. The gelatin used in the hard gelatin capsules is BSE/TSE-tested pharmaceutical gelatin.
    Filler: Mannitol (Can have a laxative effect if consumed in excess); alpha lipoic acid (32%); Capsule shell: gelatin; Dye in the capsule shell: titanium dioxide
    Adults take 2 x 1 capsule daily with liquid on an empty stomach or 30 minutes before meals
    The specified recommended daily amount must not be exceeded.
    Store cool (6-25 °C) and protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
