Product labeling:
Food-United pear halves, half fruit, lightly sugared, unique pear aroma of sun-kissed ripe pears with no added flavorings.
The pear is a pome fruit that belongs to the rose family. It thrives in warm regions with low humidity. Even the Greeks and Romans were enthusiastic about this sweet fruit.
Over 2,500 pear varieties are known. The majority were cultivated in France and Belgium in the 18th and 19th centuries, where the best breeding successes were recorded.
The main pear growing areas include Germany, Italy, Turkey, and France. Ripe pears can be recognized by their slightly yellowish or reddish color, depending on the variety.
Rich in minerals and vitamins, pears supply the body with vitamins A, B, and C, as well as B vitamins and folic acid. It also contains the minerals and trace elements magnesium, calcium, iron, zinc, and copper.
Interesting facts:
The pear is a sweet temptation that makes desserts and savory dishes such as heaven and earth a highlight.
In ancient China, the pear tree was a symbol of eternal life, and the ancient Greeks used the cult tree as a gift from the gods. In the Middle Ages, the pear tree was welcome, and its noble fruits were enjoyed.
Ripe pear fruits have a delicate fruity aroma, ranging from slightly sour-sweet to a noble, ripe aroma.
The so-called stone cells in the fruit flesh vary in intensity depending on the variety; these are a typical characteristic of the pear. They create the characteristic grainy mouthfeel when eaten.
Because pears are very low in acid, they taste deliciously sweet and offer even people who are sensitive to acid a delicious and nutritious alternative to unhealthier sweets.
After they reach peak ripeness, it doesn't take long for the pears to show the first signs of wilting. Therefore, our Food-United pear halves offer a significantly longer-lasting alternative.
Pears are so popular due to their versatility.
