1. What are Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets and what are they used for?
Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets are a calcium vitamin D3 preparation. It is used for prophylaxis and treatment of calcium and vitamin D deficiency in older people and as calcium and vitamin D supplements for the supportive treatment of osteoporosis (bone loss).
2. What should you consider before taking Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 i.E. chewing tablets?
Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets must not be taken:
if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D3 or one of the other components of this medicine mentioned in section 6. With increased calcium blood level (hyperkalzemia) < BR> In the case of increased calcium excretion in the urine (hypercalcuria)
If you suffer from an overfunction of the parathyroid gland (hyperparathyroidism)
In bone marrow cancer (myeloma)
If you suffer from cancer that radiates on your bones (bone metastases) < BR> If the limbs (extended immobilization) are immobilized for a long time, accompanied by hypercalcemia and/or hypercalcuria
in kidney stones (nephrolithiasis)
for calcium deposits in the kidneys (nephrocalcinosis)

During long -term therapy, the calcium levels in blood and urine and kidney function must be monitored regularly. This is particularly important if you tend to form kidney stones. If necessary, your doctor can reduce the dose or interrupt the treatment, depending on your blood levels.
If they are treated with heart glycosides or thiazide diuretics (diuretic agents) at the same time due to heart problems, calcium levels in blood and urine and their kidney function must be monitored regularly. If necessary, your doctor can reduce the dose or interrupt the treatment, depending on your blood levels.
If you have kidney problems, you can only take Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets with special caution. Your calcium levels in blood and urine must be monitored. In the case of serious kidney problems, take other forms of vitamin D instead of Colecalciferol.

only take calcime d3 1000 mg/880 i.e. chewing tablets with special caution if you suffer from sarcoidosis (a disease of the immune system that can affect your liver, lungs, skin or lymph nodes). There is a risk that this medicine is too effective and can lead to an overdose of calcium in the body. The calcium levels in blood and urine must be monitored.
If your movement is restricted and you suffer from osteoporosis, this medicine must be used with special caution, since the calcium level can increase in your blood.
Before taking Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets, the amount of calcium and alkali already taken should be observed, such as carbonates from other sources (food, enriched food or other medicine). If calcium-rich products are used at the same time with carbonates, this can lead to a milk alkali syndrome (Burnett syndrome). Milk alkaline syndrome is a calcium metabolism disorder with an increase in calcium level in the blood (hypercalcaemia), the ignorance of the blood (metabolic alkalosis), kidney failure and soft tissue calcification. Therefore, an additional administration of Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 i.E. chewing tablets may only be carried out under strict medical control with regular checking of the calcium levels in blood and urine.
Children and adolescents:
Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets are not intended for use in children and adolescents.
Taking Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets together with other medicines:
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have other medicines, have recently taken other medicines or intend to take other medicines.
while treatment with digitalis glycosides (heart glycosides from the thimble), cardiac arrhythmia can occur. Strict medical control including ECG examination and control of the calcium blood level is therefore required.
With the simultaneous administration of diuretics from the fabric group of thiazides (diuretic agents), the calcium level in the blood should be checked regularly, since thiazides restrict the excretion of calcium with the urine.
The intake and thus the effectiveness of certain antibiotics (so -called tetracycline) is reduced by the simultaneous administration of calcimed d3 1000 mg/880 i.E. chewing tablets. These medicines should be taken at least 2 hours before or 4-6 hours after calcime D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets.
In addition, interactions with other drugs such as sodium fluoride (for hardening the enamel or the treatment of osteoporosis) and bisphosphonates (for the treatment of osteoporosis) can occur. These preparations should therefore be taken at least 3 hours before Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 i.E. chewing tablets.
Between the administration of Colestyramine (a preparation for reducing increased cholesterol) or laxatives such as paraffin oil and calcime D3 1000 mg/880 IE. chewing tablets should be observed as long as possible, since vitamin D, otherwise it cannot be absorbed correctly.
The simultaneous administration of Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets and phenytoin (a preparation for the treatment of epilepsy) or barbiturates (sleeping pills) can lead to a reduced effect of vitamin D.
The simultaneous administration of Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets and glucocorticoids (e.g. cortisone) can lead to a reduced effect of vitamin D and reduced calcium levels in the blood.
The additional intake of calcium and vitamin D should only be carried out under medical supervision and requires a regular check of calcium levels in blood and urine.
calcium can weaken the effect of levothyroxine (for the treatment of thyroid deficiency). For this reason, levothyroxine should be taken at least 4 hours before or 4 hours after calcime D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets.
The effect of Chinolon antibiotics can be reduced if they are taken with calcium at the same time. Chinolon antibiotics should be taken 2 hours before or 6 hours after calcime D3 1000 mg/880 i.E. chewing tablets.
Taking Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets together with food and drinks:
You can take calcime d3 1000 mg/880 i.E. chewing tablets regardless of meals at any time of the day. Please note that oxalic acid (contained in spinach and rhubarb) and phytic acid (contained in whole grain products) can reduce the calcium intake in the intestine. Before and after eating food with a high content of oxal or phytic acid, you should not take calcium-containing medicines for 2 hours.

If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. If you are pregnant, you should not take calcime D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets. During pregnancy, the daily dose of calcium should not be higher than 1,500 mg and the daily dose of vitamin D3 not higher than 600 i.E. Long -term overdoses of calcium and vitamin D during pregnancy must be avoided, as this can lead to high calcium levels in the blood and have negative effects on the unborn child. Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets can be used during breastfeeding. Since calcium and vitamin D pass into breast milk, first consult with your doctor whether your child is already taking vitamin D-containing preparations.
Road and ability to use machines:
Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets have no influence on the roadworthiness and the ability to use machines.
Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets contain aspartame, sorbitol, isomalt and sucrose:
contains aspartame (E951) as a source for phenylalanine and can be harmful if you have a phenylketonuria. This drug contains Sorbitol (E420), isomalt (E953) and sucrose (sugar). Please only take this medicine after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from intolerance to certain sugar.
3. How are Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. Cauter?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this package insert or take the agreement with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Adults and older people take 1 chewing tablet daily (corresponding to 1,000 mg calcium and 880 I.E. (international units) vitamin D3). Pregnant women only take ½ chewing tablet daily (corresponding to 500 mg calcium and 440 i.e. (international units) vitamin D3). The daily dose of ½ chewing tablet must not be exceeded. The tablet must be chewed before it is swallowed. It can be taken at any time regardless of meals. Make sure that you absorb enough calcium with food (e.g. through dairy products, vegetables and mineral water). Taking Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets is long -term treatment. Talk to your doctor how long you should take Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets (see also section 2 "Warnings and precautions").
If you have taken a larger amount of calcime d3 1000 mg/880 i.e. chewing tablets than you should:
an overdose of calcimed d3 1000 mg/880 i.e chewing tablets can lead to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, thirst or excess Thirst, increased urge to urinate, drying out or constipation. If you suspect an overdose, you will immediately see your doctor or pharmacist.

5. How are Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. Kaufablets?

The active ingredients are calcium and colecalciferol (vitamin D3). Each chewing tablet contains 2,500 mg calcium carbonate (corresponding to 1,000 mg calcium) and 8.8 mg Colecalciferol dry concentrate (powder form) (corresponding to 22 µg Colecalciferol = 880 i.E. Vitamin D3). The other components are isomalt (e 953), xylitol, sorbitol (E 420), citronic acid, sodium dihydrogen citrate, magnesium stearate (ph. CVT », Aspartam (E 951), acesulfam potassium, sodium ascorbate, all-rac-alpha-tocopherol, starch, modified (corn), sucrose (sugar), medium-chain triglyzerides, high-disperses silicon dioxide and silicon dioxide hydrate. Gluten free. Lactose -free.
How Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets appear and content of the pack:
calcime 1000 mg/880 i.e. chewing tablets are round, white tablets. The chewing tablets are available in foil strips made of laminated aluminum/paper film in the following pack sizes: 48 and 96 chewing tablets.

Oral calcium intake promotes the remineralization of the skeleton of calcium deficiency.colecalciferol is physiological vitamin D3, which is converted into the kidney and liver to calcitriol, the effective substance of the vitamin D3. Calcitriol is responsible for taking the calcium and phosphate from the intestine. The recovery of the calcium and its resumption from the kidney vitamin D are also dependent. The substance promotes the mineralization of the bones and thus inhibits their dismantling.
