1. What are Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets and what are they used for?
Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets are a calcium vitamin D3 preparation. It is used for prophylaxis and treatment of calcium and vitamin D deficiency in older people and as calcium and vitamin D supplements for the supportive treatment of osteoporosis (bone loss).
2. What should you consider before taking Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 i.E. chewing tablets?
Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets must not be taken:
if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D3 or one of the other components of this medicine mentioned in section 6. With increased calcium blood level (hyperkalzemia) < BR> In the case of increased calcium excretion in the urine (hypercalcuria)
If you suffer from an overfunction of the parathyroid gland (hyperparathyroidism)
In bone marrow cancer (myeloma)

During long -term therapy, the calcium levels in blood and urine and kidney function must be monitored regularly. This is particularly important if you tend to form kidney stones. If necessary, your doctor can reduce the dose or interrupt the treatment, depending on your blood levels.
If they are treated with heart glycosides or thiazide diuretics (diuretic agents) at the same time due to heart problems, calcium levels in blood and urine and their kidney function must be monitored regularly. Before taking Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets, the amount of calcium and alkali already taken should be observed, such as carbonates from other sources (food, enriched food or other medicine). If calcium-rich products are used at the same time with carbonates, this can lead to a milk alkali syndrome (Burnett syndrome). Milk alkaline syndrome is a calcium metabolism disorder with an increase in calcium level in the blood (hypercalcaemia), the ignorance of the blood (metabolic alkalosis), kidney failure and soft tissue calcification. Taking Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets together with other medicines:

These preparations should therefore be taken at least 3 hours before Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 i.E. chewing tablets.
Between the administration of Colestyramine (a preparation for reducing increased cholesterol) or laxatives such as paraffin oil and calcime D3 1000 mg/880 IE. chewing tablets should be observed as long as possible, since vitamin D, otherwise it cannot be absorbed correctly.
The simultaneous administration of Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets and phenytoin (a preparation for the treatment of epilepsy) or barbiturates (sleeping pills) can lead to a reduced effect of vitamin D.
The simultaneous administration of Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets and glucocorticoids (e.g. cortisone) can lead to a reduced effect of vitamin D and reduced calcium levels in the blood.
The additional intake of calcium and vitamin D should only be carried out under medical supervision and requires a regular check of calcium levels in blood and urine.

The effect of Chinolon antibiotics can be reduced if they are taken with calcium at the same time. Chinolon antibiotics should be taken 2 hours before or 6 hours after calcime D3 1000 mg/880 i.E. chewing tablets.
Taking Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets together with food and drinks:
You can take calcime d3 1000 mg/880 i.E. chewing tablets regardless of meals at any time of the day. Please note that oxalic acid (contained in spinach and rhubarb) and phytic acid (contained in whole grain products) can reduce the calcium intake in the intestine. Before and after eating food with a high content of oxal or phytic acid, you should not take calcium-containing medicines for 2 hours.

If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets contain aspartame, sorbitol, isomalt and sucrose:

3. How are Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. Cauter?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this package insert or take the agreement with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Adults and older people take 1 chewing tablet daily (corresponding to 1,000 mg calcium and 880 I.E. (international units) vitamin D3). Pregnant women only take ½ chewing tablet daily (corresponding to 500 mg calcium and 440 i.e. (international units) vitamin D3). The daily dose of ½ chewing tablet must not be exceeded. The tablet must be chewed before it is swallowed. It can be taken at any time regardless of meals. Make sure that you absorb enough calcium with food (e.g. through dairy products, vegetables and mineral water). Taking Calcimed D3 1000 mg/880 I.E. chewing tablets is long -term treatment. If you have taken a larger amount of calcime d3 1000 mg/880 i.e. chewing tablets than you should:
