Description
Robbe & Berking Martelé The Martelé Bar collection appeals to all the senses when you want to enjoy a really good drink. The Martelé Bar collection was created for people who love something special and who value functional yet elegant equipment. The collection gets its French name from the special hammering technique (martelé = hammered, hammering), which only a few silversmiths have mastered as artfully and to such perfection as the forges at Robbe & Berking. This masterful craftsmanship creates rounded, slightly faceted structures on the surface that reflect the incident light hundreds of times, making the bar a radiant stage for the finest drinks. Robbe & Berking Since 1874, five generations now, cutlery has been manufactured at the highest level in the Flensburg manufactory Robbe & Berking. Nicolaus Christoph Robbe laid the foundation stone in 1874 by founding the Flensburg silver factory and manufactured silver cutlery and tableware in his small workshop based on designs by jewelers from the Flensburg area. To this day, through ups and downs, Robbe & Berking has built itself up to become the world's leading manufacturer of excellently crafted silver products that have been perfected down to the last detail and are considered true masterpieces of blacksmithing by connoisseurs and enthusiasts worldwide. Silver-plated cutlery and tableware On silver-plated cutlery and utensils, the hallmark indicates the strength of the silver coating (silver plating). The amount of fine silver in grams that is used for the silver plating of a 24-piece cutlery set (distributed across 12 table spoons and 12 table forks) is decisive for the hallmarked number of grams. The Stamp Act, which is still largely valid today, was introduced in 1888 during the time of the German Empire in order to standardize the trade in gold and silver.
