Summary
The Artelac® Lipids EDO® drip gel provides particularly long-lasting relief for dry and watery eyes. When eyes water, the outer layer of the tear film, the so-called lipid layer, is often deficient. Artelac® Lipids EDO® complements and stabilizes this outer layer.
Grip the one-dose ophtiol at the end with the label and carefully separate it from the strip. Hold the one-dose ophtiol by the end with the label cap side down and gently tap until all of the eye gel is in the neck of the one-dose ophtiol. Unscrew the cap of the one-dose ophtiol (do not pull). Tilt your head back slightly and pull your lower eyelid down slightly with one finger of your free hand. Hold the ophtiol vertically over the eye with the drip tip pointing downwards, avoiding touching the eye. Squeeze the ophtiol to instill 1 drop into the inferior conjunctival sac. Then close your eyes, move them slightly back and forth and blink so that the gel drop is well distributed over the surface of the eye.
Remove contact lenses before dripping and reinsert them after at least 15 minutes.
Due to hormonal changes and increasing age, women in particular suffer from declining tear production, the symptoms of which are alleviated by artificially moistening the eyes.
Causes of watery eyes are often disorders in the function of the eyelids or the tear organs. But excessive evaporation of the tear film with a deficient lipid layer can also be a reason for this.
Diabetes is a systemic disease that can lead to sicca syndrome in the eye.
How does Artelac® Lipids EDO® help?
Artelac® Lipids EDO® supplements and stabilizes the lipid layer. It also contains carbomer to bind moisture to the surface of the eye.
How often and for how long should Artelac® Lipids EDO® be used?
The treatment of dry eye requires individual therapy depending on the severity and intensity of the symptoms. Put a gel drop of Artelac® Lipids EDO® into the eye 3 to 5 times a day or more frequently if necessary.
